Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actor known for her performance as the spirited attorney Teri Joseph in the Showtime series Soul Food. Following her wedding, she was Nikki Kodjoe. Her birthplace and childhood was in Baltimore Maryland. In her early years as young, she demonstrated an aptitude for acting and was awarded the Best Actress Award in an Maryland High School Contest. After her experience in the acting and in "The Washington Ballet Company", she received an acting degree at the New York University. The actress received lots of praise for her first large performance in The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love. Later came films such as "Boogie Nights Spark and Blue Streak. Soul Food received a lot of applause for her performance. Her appearances also appeared in TV series like Second Time Around" and Empire. Earlier in her career she was a part of a number of stage productions. Parker is engaged to Boris Kodjoe, an actor and model. They have two daughters.
Contractor was born in Mumbai in India she was raised in Nigeria from the time she was seven. She was already exposed to numerous travel experiences and different cultures at a very young age. She was educated in the boarding school of London between the ages of 7 and 9 years. Later, her family moved from London to Toronto, Canada. When she was in Toronto, Contractor excelled in academics, and was trained to become a classical ballerina. The Etobicoke School of the Arts (a public high school that specializes in the arts) she studied ballet and theater. Contractor aged 16 at the time she realized that performing would be her career. Dance was her passion for over a decade. After she completed high school, she was offered a full scholarship for tuition to University of Toronto where she was a theatre student with a dual degree in psychology and Sociology. Contractor, who had been a student for a year and auditioned during an open call for Pericles, at the prestigious Stratford Shakespeare Festival, [Ontario Canada] and won the part. She received rave reviews for her work during the 92 performances that this play, which was named"the best show of 2002" by Canadian critics in 2002. Contractor accepted the invitation to join Stratford's Conservatory. The Conservatory has only 8 men as well as four females get accepted for a 20-week intensive course of classical theater. Contractor's participation in the next play-season was confirmed and she got the part in Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
